These homemade rice krispie treats bring back so many childhood memories! So of course, I had to try my hand at a healthier, homemade version and boy am I happy I did! Ingredients in These Healthy Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats:

Medjool Dates - soft, sticky medjool dates are the key to this recipe! They provide a natural sweetness and help all the ingredients stick together.

Peanut Butter - I always try to use natural peanut butter's with no added oils or sugars. Creamy, drippy peanut butter is best for this recipe. Feel free to substitute creamy almond butter or hazelnut butter if you prefer.

Brown Rice Crisps - I used One Degree Organics brown rice cacao crisps.

Hazelnuts - the added nuts provide a lovely added crunch to these rice krispie treats. Be sure to use raw, unsalted hazelnuts.

Maple Syrup - I used 100% pure maple syrup for an added natural sweetness.
