Vegan Basil Pesto

This easy basil pesto is vegan, gluten free, and every bit as tasty as traditional pesto. It comes together in just 5 minutes and is perfect for sauces, pasta, pizza, salads, and more!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • ¼ cups walnuts
  • cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoon nutritional yeast
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients except olive oil in a food processor and blend until combined and a paste forms.
  • Slowly drizzle in olive oil while the food processor is still running and pulse until incorporated.
  • Taste and adjust flavour as needed. Add more olive oil for a smoother pesto, nutritional yeast for an extra cheesy flavour, or nuts for a nuttier flavour.
