This air fryer tofu is perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and is both vegan and gluten free! Made with just 5 total ingredients, it's the perfect meal prep staple that's both easy and delicious.

I've been experimenting with so many crispy air fryer tofu recipes and this one is definitely a winner! It's so incredibly easy to make, and comes out perfectly crispy every time. All you do is press your tofu to remove excess liquid, coat it in a little cornstarch and spices, and pop it in the air fryer to bake! I love prepping this tofu in advance and adding it to my nourish bowls throughout the week. I've paired it with basmati rice and steamed broccoli here which is a go to weeknight dinner of mine! Other ways I love serving this tofu are with stir fry noodles, over quinoa, and on top of a bed of greens with roasted veggies.

TIPS TO MAKE THE PERFECT CRISPY AIR FRYER TOFU

Press tofu for at least 30 minutes - pressing the tofu is essential to making your tofu extra crispy! It removes the excess moisture from your tofu as tofu that's still soggy with water will rarely ever get crispy.

Use firm or extra firm tofu - this is the only way to go! Soft tofu often ends up "mushing" when you're trying to coat or marinate it, and also doesn't crisp up as well. Firm and extra firm tofu hold together well and can withstand higher heat cooking.

Spray tofu before air frying - this helps all of the coating and spices to stick to your tofu while it's cooking. Spraying the tofu also allows it to get extra crispy on the outside.

I really enjoyed this recipe! I added some Sambal Oelek to the tofu to spice it up.
