What makes these peanut butter energy balls so healthy?
Medjool dates - soft, gooey medjool dates are what you need for this recipe. They help create the lovely chewy texture in these bliss balls and provide a natural sweetness
Peanut butter - be sure to use natural, drippy peanut butter for this recipe! I always try to find nut butters with no added oils or sugars, or make my own at home. I love the taste of peanut butter in these energy balls, but you can substitute any creamy nut butter! Almond butter and cashew butter work great as well.
Rolled oats - rolled oats provide the best texture for these bliss balls. They also add a great fibre boost and are rich in Vitamin B1 and iron.
Ground Flaxseed - flaxseed adds extra nutrients and fibre to this energy ball recipe. You can also substitute chia seeds.
Date Syrup - feel free to substitute maple syrup or honey
Protein Powder - I love adding vanilla protein powder for an extra protein boost! It's totally optional and will not affect the texture of the recipe if you choose to omit. My favourite is Nuzest Clean Lean Vanilla Protein.
