Ingredients
- Banana - be sure to use frozen banana for this recipe to keep your smoothie thick and creamy.
- Dates - gooey medjool dates work best for this recipe and add the perfect natural sweetness.
- Spinach - I recommend using fresh spinach for best results. It's a great way to sneak in some extra veggies!
- Avocado - adds a lovely texture along with healthy fats.
- Almond Milk - feel free to substitute with any plant-based milk. Oat milk, soy milk or coconut milk would work great as alternatives.
- Vanilla Protein - I love the taste of vanilla protein in this recipe for added flavor, but you can also use unflavoured protein powder.

3 Top Tips for Success
- Use frozen bananas to maintain a thick smoothie texture. If you don't have frozen bananas on hand you can place fresh bananas in the freezer until frozen.
- Add in your chocolate chips at the end, and simply pulse them in a few times to break down. This ensures that they maintain a slight crunchy texture and don't get over blended into your smoothie.
- Blend your smoothie on high until smooth, scraping down sides as needed. We don't want any spinach chunks to be left in our smoothie!
